Musical drama wins award

Those who saw the musical drama Jane Eyre at Magna Carta Arts Centre in February, will not be surprised to learn that it has won Laleham-based Hatton Operatic Society Accolade of Excellence award.

NODA is the National Operatic and Dramatic Association who champion professional and amateur theatre nationally and have Andrew Lloyd Webber as its President.

Pictured receiving the accolade from NODA representative Gloria Smith are Clive Walker, the director, and Amanda Lapping, who played Jane.

The group are currently in rehearsal for what promises to be a very different but equally spectacular - production of Cole Porter's Anything Goes to be staged at the same theatre 21-25 October 2008.
