Euphonic set to rock Egham
Euphonic is Surrey's only free music festival for young people and takes place on Sunday September 7 as part of the Runnymede Youth Festival at Egham Leisure Centre.
The noon till dusk festival is aimed at 13 - 19 year olds and features performers from the Live and Direct contemporary music initiative, which runs throughout Surrey. All performers went through an audition process, against other local acts, to win their place on the festival programme.
In July over 40 bands and artists from the countywide Live and Direct music programme were auditioned.
Helyn Clack, Surrey County Council's Executive Member for Safer and Stronger Communities, said: "All these bands have worked extremely hard in very different ways and we believe the festival will truly represent the musical creativity and diversity of Surrey's very gifted young people."
Euphonic is hosted this year by the Runnymede Youth Festival, which aims to provide an action packed day of activities for young people. These include climbing walls, inflatables and skate boarding, as well as the Runnymede Youth Council stage with music, dance, art and comedy performances.
