Teenage motorcyclist injured in crash
A teenage motorbike rider was seriously injured in a crash with a car at Pooley Green Road in Egham on Tuesday (December 2).
The 18-year-old male, who has not been named by police, was injured when his black Jinlun motorcycle was involved in a collision with a red Rover 100, between the junction with Pooley Avenue and Vicarage Road at about 10am.
The Surrey Air Ambulance was initially dispatched to the scene but later turned away, when it was considered the motorcyclist could be treated locally.
He was then taken to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, where he was treated for serious injuries to his chest. He was in a stable condition as the Herald & News went to press.
The driver of the Rover, a 55-year-old man, was not injured in the smash
Vicarage Road was shut between Egham High Street and Egham Leisure Centre while Pooley Green Road was closed at the junction with Mullens Road as police crash investigation officers worked at the scene. All roads were reopened at about 2pm.
Anyone who witnessed the collision should call the Surrey Police collision investigation unit on 01483 639922.
