Egham woman opens dog-training business
An ambitious woman is hoping to solve people's canine conundrums after setting up her own dog training business.
Entrepreneur, Sarah Godfrey, 25, of Derwent Road, Egham, launched Pet Necessities on January 1, kicking off her new year with the intention of providing affordable help for residents' pet problems.
Her new business will involve offering classes being run at Egham Cricket Club, but will also include personalise training walks and house visits and besides behavioural training classes even include teaching dogs tricks.
Miss Godfrey, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, the official body for dog trainers, has worked with the four-legged friends all her life and as a dog trainer for the past seven years.
She said: "Opening my own business was something I had always wanted to do, so I just decided to go for it. I don't expect too much in my first year, with the credit crunch going on, but I hope to just start running some classes and helping the dogs in the local area."
Miss Godfrey, who is studying for a BSC in psychology at Birkbeck University in London, believes a dog is never too old to learn and better themselves.
She said: "Obviously it's a bit harder when the dog is older, but training any dog is certainly possible."
