Egham students mix business with pleasure
Savvy students mixed work and play by organising a fun beach party for charity.
The leisure studies students from Strodes College, Egham, were asked to plan, organise and carry out an event as part of their coursework.
They chose to hold their beach party at Banks bar in Egham High Street, on Sunday, March 8, with funds going to hospice care charity, CHASE.
The bar was decked out, complete with inflatable palm trees and most of the 50 students who turned out on the day came in full beach attire, of shorts, hats and Hawaiian shirts, but the prize for best costume went to one student who came dressed as a hammerhead shark.
A group second year students also held a cake sale to promote the party.
The students raised a total of £140 for CHASE, which supports families with life-limited children in Surrey, south west London and Sussex.
