Judge to hold court at awards night
Strode's College's annual Prize-giving ceremony takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday 2nd April in Coopers' Hall.
The Guest of Honour will be HH Judge Brian Barker QC, Master of the Worshipful Company of Coopers.
He is also The Common Serjeant of London, an office created in 1319 with responsibilities as the legal advisor to the Court of Common Council (the local governing authority for the City and Corporation of London).
The role involves an active part in the ceremonial functions surrounding the Lord Mayor and City of London. He is the Deputy Senior Judge at the Central Criminal Court.
Judge Barker was educated at Strode's Grammar School, which became the current sixth form College in 1974, and he served as a Governor of the College from 1993 to 2007.
The evening will celebrate the achievements of the College and its students in the previous academic year. A large number of past and present students attend with their families to receive prizes and meet with their teachers.
Many will be returning from universities or planning to go later this year, while others are on Gap years or will have taken employment.
In his speech, The Principal, Frank Botham, will comment on the outstanding successes of individuals and student achievement across many disciplines and fields and on the significant developments at the College.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos
