Welcome to your local community website...

Now is the time for change....to the Independents.

brian-perry.jpgI have worked in Egham for more than 25 years. Now retired from Procter & Gamble (P&G), I continue to be heavily involved in local community work. I am an Officer of many voluntary organisations in Runnymede (RAVS, AIR, Egham Royal Show) and for this and fund-raising work I have become known as 'Mr Runnymede'.

I am standing as an Independent and pledge to remain in touch with the residents of all ages and local businesses. In tune with their needs I shall remain 'independently-minded' and not subject to any party whip. I have the full support of the Runnymede Independents.

I have a first class honours in Microbiology and a PhD in Biophysical Chemistry; both awarded by the University of London. I still teach chemistry on Royal Society of Chemistry 'Chemistry at Work' programme.

Integrated sustainable solutions need to be found to maximise the flow of traffic through the Ward, particularly, with the negative impact of Airtrack on level crossings downtime. I will continue to work with the local schools with whom I have worked in the past. I will support the improvement of facilities for the youth in the area. I am passionate about recycling and waste minimisation and for the Environment in general. I am against local gravel extraction. I will work to generate a greater sense of community across the whole of Egham Hythe; both Pooley Green and The Hythe. A community fun day should be re-instated. I will support the continuous provision of social and affordable housing. Services for the increasing number of older people must not only be maintained but improved.

Free time for me is spent watching football, gardening and looking after a rescued cockerel called Roger.

I wish that I could vote for Brian but I don't live in Egham Hythe. Good luck!

Those voters living in Egham Hythe are fortunate in being able to reject party politics and party politicians by voting for an Independent, Brian Perry, to represent them at Runnymede.
Voting for Brian makes casting at least one of your votes tomorrow worthwhile.

I believe we need candidates that truly support and fight for local constituents, and not party politics. I have the impression that our representatives just forget about Egham Hythe - that's why Airtrack and the gravel extraction projects can be considered even if they will make a complete misery of the area where we live. So good luck Brian
