Magna Carta School gets best ever GCSE results
Magna Carta School celebrated the best GCSE results in the schools history on their 50th Anniversary last week.
The School had 68 per cent of students obtain five or more A* to C grades, a seven per cent increase on last years' year elevens.
Every single student left the school with at least one GSCE or equivalent.
Headteacher Tim Smith said: "We are incredibly proud of them as a year, we've been pleased with their work ethic, their attendance, and their commitment to our school."
Philip White the Chair of Governors said: "The commitment of everybody to get these results is phenomenal, a great effort from all staff members and pupils."
Headgirl Nicky Saunders, 16, and Rosie Peskett, 16, did particularly well in their results.
Nicky who wants to become a physiotherapist got one A*, eight A's, three B's and one C, she said "I'm happy, it's what I was predicted , I'll miss the school, I don't want to grow up!"
Rosie who will be starting at Strode's College this September to study psychology, German and English literature got seven A's, and four B's, she said: "I'm very pleased, I didn't expect some of the A's, so I'm very happy."
