New organisation to celebrate Runnymede

A new organisation hopes to be established in time to celebrate the 800th anniversary of democracy.

Our Democratic Heritage aims to raise awareness of the unique role played by all the unsung British political, economic, cultural and social heroes in building up our modern democracy.

The new organisation hopes to be fully established by 2015 when it intends to champion the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta on Runnymede.
