The Runnymede gallery will be launching their first Christmas exhibition in December.

On Saturday 5, the Windsor Road building on the borders of Egham and Old Windsor will see 'Winter Wonderland' start, showcasing 16 artists and their work.

An extra 200 police officers could be seen walking around the streets of Surrey in the near future.

Chief constable of Surrey Police Mark Rowley has said the force are looking to close police stations, make cuts of senior officers and lower bureaucracy as part of radical plans due to be discussed on December 10 with Surrey Police Authority.

Two homeless people who have been harassing commuters at Ashford and Egham train stations for the past year have been given anti-social behaviour orders.

Trevor Davison, 29, and Kerri Turner, 20, had been begging, drinking, and causing a nuisance at the stations, in Station Road respectively.

A public inquiry into the land use of property in Hurst Lane will come before a public inquiry at the Civic Chambers in Addlestone on February 2,3 and 4 next year (2010).

Runnymede Council had ordered Diana Vick, of Glenfield, to halt use of her land for an ice-making business, the stationing of mobile homes, the construction of an access road and the erection of a shed containing electricity meters.

The Secretary of State for the Environment decided the appeal would be dealt with by public inquiry.

Representations on the appeal should be made to the Planning Inspectorate before December 15, 2009.

The history of Ottershaw will form the subject of talk to historians on Thursday November 26 at 8pm.

Illustrated Tales of Old Ottershaw, will be presented to The Egham by Runnymede Historical Society by Hannah Lane at the Literary Institute in the High Street.

Blood donor sessions will take place at Egham Youth & Community Centre on Sunday, November 29.

Two sessions will be available from 9.30am until 12.30pm. Then 2pm until 4.30pm. Both in the main hall.

Thameside Art Group meets on Wednesdays, from 7.15pm until 9.15pm in the small hall of the Hythe Centre.

A Christmas treat is instore for those who love both hearing and singing great Christmas carols.

A Community Songs of Praise for Harvest is taking place at the St John's Church on Tuesday, Devember 8 at 2pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy the hymns and carols. Tea and cakes will be served afterwards.

A Christmas themed craft workshop for children takes place at the St John's Church Centre, Manor Farm Lane on Saturday, December 5 from 3pm until 5pm.

Activities will range from candle-making to card making and glace icing biscuits.

Refreshments are available and Fair Trade Christmas cards and gifts will also be on sale. Entry is free, but donations towards costs are welcome.

A 'mystery' car that residents thought had been abandoned vanished without trace.

Residents in Lynwood Avenue complained to police and the council after the one year-old black Honda Jazz remained in the road, where parking spaces are hard to find during term time, throughout September, with no sign of the owners.

The car vanished without trace overnight in early October.
