The kitchen, which provides meals for those in need, as well as the chance for some company, is run by St John's Church and is open both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but is closed Sundays.

A Christmas Kitchen oranised by a local church will help provide a place for people in need to get a meal and smoe company during the festive season.

The kitchen, run by St John's Church, will be open every day, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, from Saturday, December 12 until Thursday, December 31, but closed on Sundays.

A new eight-week course exploring life and spirituality launches next year.

The Life Course 2010 will be held at St John's Church, Egham, from Sunday, January 10 at 6.30pm.

Food will be followed by a short talk and informal discussion on some of life's big questions.

A Community Songs of Praise for Harvest is taking place at the St John's Church on Tuesday, Devember 8 at 2pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy the hymns and carols. Tea and cakes will be served afterwards.

A popular book stall returns to the High Street on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21.

More than 3,500 new and second hand books will be available at the stall is organised by the United Church of Egham and is open from 6.30pm until 9pm on Friday, 8.30am until 12.30pm on Saturday.

Proceeds will be shared between church funds and the PTAs of St Judes Junior School, Englefield Green, and Christchurch Infant School, Virginia Water.

Young musical talent will be on display at a special concert at the United Church on Sunday, November 15 at 3pm.

The 'Concert of Young Musicians' is organised by Egham & District Music Club.

A memorial service will be held at St Paul's Church, in Thorpe Road, Egham Hythe at 10.50am on Sunday, November 7.

The wreath laying ceremony will take place inside the church at 11am.

A special service for older members of the community will take place at St Paul's Church on Wednesday, November 4 from 2.30pm until 4pm.

The Songs of Praise service will be followed by tea in the hall, with disability friendly transport available from Age Concern Runnymede.

The Kings Chamber Orchestra is back in Egham at the end of November. Under the direction of Gerard le Feuvre they will be providing two concerts;

1. an afternoon kids classics teddy bear and hat concert
2. an evening concert of Oscar Wilde's The Selfish Giant

St John's Church will play host to a new theatre production discussing religion and zoology.
The Riding Lights Theatre Company will perform Origins and Lemons: squeezing the juice out of Genesis, at the church on Monday, November 2 at 7.30pm.

The show, directed by Paul Burbridge and written by Nigel Forde forms part of the company's national tour.
